The problem we discovered…
Why are some customers so happy with their advisors that they name their children after them, but others are actively seeking a new advisor or even looking to technology as a replacement?
We discovered the issue - it was systemic in nature. The advisors that are serving their customers are not enabled to be their best selves, by firms that force advisors to operate a specific certain way, and often take the vast majority of their compensation which disincentivizes an advisor from showing up their best.
The advisors we talked to that had the happiest clients either owned their own firm, or were so big that they had teams working for them, enabling them to live however they wanted.
The problem is that starting a financial services firm is no easy task - trust us, we know, we went through it. And growing at a firm to be a ‘big shot’ and having a whole team under you is a milestone that most people will never accomplish…
So what other options do advisors have to work the way they want to, in order to best serve their clients?
We found a lot of firms that proposed services, high payouts, full autonomy and flexibility, etc. etc.
But guess what?
A few years later, we discovered that under the hood they were all just the same. Secret fees, backed out promises of autonomy and flexibility, and worst of all, selling the firm and the advisors’ customers without giving anybody a say in the matter.
How can an advisor possibly best serve their customers with all of this in the background?
Finance Wisdom seeks to provide full transparency to all advisors and end customers, and even takes it a step further - every advisor has complete ownership over their own customer base, in writing. We even have a provision to assist advisors in transitioning to a new firm if Finance Wisdom is not a good fit.
Never again worry about secretly holding a database of your customer records in the event that the rug is pulled from under you.
Never again worry about secret fees and how much the firm is actually making.
Never again feel stiffed because your firm is taking the majority of your earnings.
Finance Wisdom allows advisors to show up at their best for their customers.
Jeffrey Mermilliod, MBA - Founder
I got my MBA during the Great Recession and saw first-hand how people were affected by the financial fallout. I felt a calling to work in finance, to help my clients prepare for both the rainy days, and the financial future they hope for.
I have a national practice, helping clients to manage all aspects of their financial lives, including financial planning, budgeting, life/disability insurance, and investment management. My clients and I work together to create a plan that focuses on their financial needs today, and their financial goals for the future.
Prior to getting my MBA, I worked in the Healthcare field for over two decades. Although my healthcare career is in the past, I still speak the language and understand the career paths and intricacies of the profession. I have built on my experience in the field to focus on working with Doctors, Dentists, and other healthcare professionals. One of my focuses is helping Healthcare professionals to get high-quality, specialty-specific Disability Insurance. For help in that area, please schedule a call here.
I began my Healthcare career as an active-duty Hospital Corpsman in the Navy, and I finished my military career as a Medical Service Corps Officer with the Air Force Reserve retiring in 2023. I’m proud to be a Veteran, and as a finance professional who understands military benefits and culture, I am always ready to help a fellow Vet.
